In " Signs Along the Way " Doug Malear, founder of Hope Lighthouse Ministries, captures photos from across the nation and pairs them with biblical truths. Doug has gathered the catchy, proverbial sayings seen on marquees and billboards he sees while traveling the highways for ministry.

Readers will obtain key Bible verses, useful commentaries, and written sermonettes for daily encouragement. A former heroin addict, prison inmate and part of Detroit's homeless, Doug shares bits and pieces of his inspiring life testimony through this unique book.

"Signs Along the Way is an interesting read for every believer and especially for new believers. Doug captures the Christian pathway through often amusing marquees. Every church in America needs to give this book to new Christ followers as a means of establishing their new walk of faith." Rev. Dennis Kutzner, Former General Secretary (30 years) for Calvary Ministries Inc., worlwide fellowship of churches

The Outreach Arm of Hope Lighthouse Ministries

We are a group of people doing life together here, and looking forward to doing eternity together when the Lord, Jesus returns. We are learning together, many times through trial and error, how to connect to God, connect to one another, and to connect to our community in simple and meaningful ways. We are on a journey filled with all the ups and downs of life but finding the joy of the Lord along the way. We are commited to ... "Making Jesus the light of hope in our community."

So join us, ............ CATCH THE VISION - TAKE THE JOURNEY!

Pictures of some of our volunteers "Many hands make light work"

Most of what Hope Lighthouse Ministries does, from our food & clothing programs, to our various "Hope in the City" outreaches are all done with volunteers. Our core staff is relatively small for the amount of community work we do, so volunteers are really the life blood of this ministry.

We have regular, on-going volunteers and periodic volunteers. We have a group of volunteers from Goodwill Industries who have worked in our food & clothing pantry since about 2003. We have some volunteers who give their time on a consistant scheduled basis and some others who come periodically as they are able.

Then we have groups, every summer, who come from around Michigan and even out of state to spend a few days to a week working with us on projects and outreaches. If you or your group would like to volunteer for a day, or make it a short term missions trip, working with inner city kids and families,
give us a call at 231-722-HOPE (4673).
